Today I rode 3km.I’m riding for my amazing big sister.
I’m riding for autism to help create a world where no-one on the autism spectrum is left behind. I’m riding so that people see all of the amazing talents that people on the spectrum display.
I am doing this ride for my amazing big sister. She is talented, and has gone beyond what anyone could have ever told her. The amount of times she was told to give up, she didn’t.ASPECT gave her the push she needed. ASPECT gave her the confidence she needed. I am so proud of her and love her to bits.
I've set my challenge and I'll be riding from Sunday 4 - 11 July while raising much needed funds to support people on the autism spectrum. I will be riding 10km.
An estimated 1 in every 70 people is on the spectrum. Along with their family members, this means autism is a part of daily life for over a million Australians. For me, I grew up not knowing much about autism, especially when my big sister was first diagnosed. Now I have learnt a whole lot more, and will continue through the future.
People on the spectrum see, hear, feel and experience the world differently. For many, simply coping with the everyday can lead to confusion, anxiety and isolation. For people on the spectrum, it is like living on a completely different world.
By coming together and taking action, we can help provide opportunities for people on the autism spectrum to participate, engage and thrive in the world around them. This means the world to people on the spectrum.
Help make my ride count and show your support by donating today! Remember, autism is not a disability, it is an extraordinary ability!
