My Activity Tracking

My target 200 kms

27/06 - My Fourth Ride

Our earliest start and aimed to hit our 50km goal, I finally got to try out the Merri Creek Trail.

- Getting more confident on a road bike now and my fitness improving.
- Kangaroos (eye level with me sitting on the bike!!) appearing out of nowhere standing on the path staring us down is very scary when it's pitch black and they're lit up by our small headlights!!
- Small inclines over a long distance KILLS me as much, if not more than, a sharp but short incline.
- Never knew velodromes were that steep - scary when I can't get fast enough to stop falling!

- Start Time: 5.30am
- Duration: 3hr 25min
- Distance: ~48km
- AvgSpeed:  13.9 km/h
- Weather: 6°C (max)

20/06 - My Third Ride

Managed to squeeze in a quick ride along the Maribyrnong River due to time constraints.

- New bike feeling a lot better after being serviced and adjusted to fit me correctly.
- Huge rainstorm finished JUST before we started riding.
- Gloves are an essential haha

- Start Time: 5.30am
- Duration: 1hr 35min
- Distance: ~16km
- AvgSpeed:  10.2 km/h
- Weather: 13°C (max)

13/06 - My Second Ride

We explored the coast via Beach Road (Port Melbourne to Black Rock)

- First time owning and riding a full carbon fibre road bike and it felt very different to my mountain bike, but I felt the massive benefits right away!!
- Riding alongside the shoreline was a great view and a lot different to when I would drive a car on the same route.
- The very experienced riders on the actual road are intimidatingly fast and I'm starting to appreciate the addictiveness of this activity.

- Start Time: 6am
- Duration: ~4hr 15min*
- Distance: ~40km*
- AvgSpeed:  ?? km/h*
- Weather: 10°C (max)

*(my Apple Watch went flat after halfway point haha)

10/06 - New Bike, Who Dis'?!

Happy Birthday to me - I bought a road bike!!

Got addicted to researching bikes and joined the Facebook groups etc. and all of a sudden I've bought a bike and find some random accessory to buy daily!!

I was super sore after my first ride (should've gradually increased the distance/duration) and was disappointed I couldn't join the group on the ride last week (they did the Merri Creek Trail).

31/05 - My First Ride

My first ever ride with my friends and they introduced me to the Capital City Trail.

- Used my mountain bike (with dual suspension and disc brakes!!) and learnt how heavy the bike was when I had to carry it up a few sets of stairs close to the mid-point.
- The Yarra River at sunrise was amazing and so calm and fresh!
- Took me a week to recover!! >.<

- Start Time: 7am
- Duration: 3hr 15min
- Distance: ~34km
- AvgSpeed:  10.4km/h
- Weather: 12°C (max)

We're fundraising to support our network of family, friends and colleagues!!

We're riding for autism to help create a world where no-one on the autism spectrum is left behind.

We'll be challenging ourselves to ride 50km on Saturday 11th of July, while raising much needed funds to support people on the autism spectrum.

An estimated 1 in every 70 people is on the spectrum. Along with their family members, this means autism is a part of daily life for over a million Australians.

People on the spectrum see, hear, feel and experience the world differently. For many, simply coping with the everyday can lead to confusion, anxiety and isolation.

By coming together and taking action, we can help provide opportunities for people on the autism spectrum to participate, engage and thrive in the world around them.

Please help make my ride count and show your support by donating today!!

Thank you!!
