Last year, Melbourne was faced with one of the worst lockdowns the globe saw. With schools closed, along with hundreds of thousands of others, I was confronted with the loss of my casual job. I was fortunate enough that through the job I held, I was able to build relationships with parents of the school community, in particular, the beautiful Hanaa, Nader and Zain's gorgeous sister, Raya. 

The family I am riding for this year, have to be the most resilient and caring individuals I have ever met. 
To Hanaa, Nader and Raya, Zain is a true reflection of you all.

They say children on the Spectrum face difficulty processing emotions, but Zain kicks the stereotypes in the butt every, single, day! At his big boy age of eight-years old, Zain continues to teach me about empathy, family and love. 

I truly do believe that the world we live in is not ready for Zain's big heart and big brain yet.   

I'm riding for....

I’m riding for autism to help create a world where no-one on the autism spectrum is left behind. 

I've set my challenge and I'll be riding from Sunday 4 - 11 July while raising much needed funds to support people on the autism spectrum.

An estimated 1 in every 70 people is on the spectrum. Along with their family members, this means autism is a part of daily life for over a million Australians.

People on the spectrum see, hear, feel and experience the world differently. For many, simply coping with the everyday can lead to confusion, anxiety and isolation.

By coming together and taking action, we can help provide opportunities for people on the autism spectrum to participate, engage and thrive in the world around them.
